MODELING OF EDUCATIONAL CLUSTERS WITH THE USE OF THE STRUCTURED ANALYSIS AND DESIGN TECHNIQUE (SADT)

The implementation of the competence-based approach implicates the usage of modern methodologies for educational system modeling. The article explores the pedagogical potential of the structured analysis and design technique (SADT), its possibilities and advantages for using in the process of education. The productivity of the structured analysis and design methodology for describing and studying educational systems is proven by the extensive list of identified key areas for its applications. The article describes the experience in modeling an educational cluster using the SADT for higher library and information education. An innovation model based on the cluster approach has been created for education management. The competence-oriented functional model of the educational cluster ‘Designing Information Systems’ for managing the development of professional competences, the author’s structural components of competencies, and the levels of competence formedness have been created with the use of functional modeling.
