ON ISSUES OF SPIRITUAL UPBRINGING AND EDUCATION IN MODERN RUSSIA: ANALYSIS OF CONTRADICTIONS AND EXPERIENCE OF INTEGRATING HISTORICAL WITH RELIGIOUS KNOWLEDGE

The paper inquires into one of the most topical problems of modern educational system – spiritual and moral upbringing of youth under forming of information civilization. The author proves that disparaging attitude to the problems of spiritual upbringing and humanitarian education causes destruction of basic moral principles and flourish of the so-called “neo-paganism” (cult of the body) . The paper analyzes the influence of multidirectional factors shaping the word view of modern Russian youth (contradictory role of electronic mass media, liberal ideology, mass culture, the growth of nationalistic movements, the growing influence of religious word view). It is shown how these contradictories reflect in word view of youth, its impact on attitude to religion.
