ESSENCE OF THE CASE STUDY: THE PEDAGOGICAL ASPECT OF UNDERSTANDING THE TERM

The article deals with results of the pedagogical apprehension of the term “Case study”. Case-study is considered as a whole system of ways, methods and means for designing and realising the models of educational and career-oriented situations and quasi-professional students’ activities; case is presented as a creative task generating new meanings and purposes for the student’s professional development. The method of Case Study gives students opportunity to work on a united problem field, learns students to analyze and synthesize available information, to argue their point of view in discussions, to represent the result s of the group work.
