YOUTH SUBCULTUREs AS A FACTOR IN STUDENTS’ SOCIALISATION

N. V. Shumkova
(Ogarev Mordovia State University)

The author presents the results of the survey “Young people’s subculture practices in the city of Saransk” carried out in 2012−2013. The purpose of the study is to determine the role of youth subcultures in the process of modern youth socialisation. Based on the results of the survey covering seniour schoolchildren and students, the author concludes that Saransk’s subculture space actually includes more than a third of all young people. This statement should make educators stay alert to this fact and account for it in their pedagogical practice.

Keywords: socialisation of youth; peer group; youth subcultures; seniour pupils; students; attitude of teachers to youth subcultures.
