The paper is concerned with questions of evolvement of professional activity of the first theatrical educational institutions of Mordovia (Saransk) which were carrying out preparation of artistic personnel in the field of musical, opera and drama art. For the first time the textual, chronological and typological discrepancies found in archival documents of the Central State Archive (CSA) of the Mordovian Republic (1930) are investigated and described. The first decades of the XX century is an important historical stage in the evolvement and development of cultural and educational space of Mordovia. The understanding of art idea in a cultural model of traditional society changed; now it was supposed to comprehend through mastering professional knowledge. Processes of professionalisation in various spheres of cultural life of society and art had a deeply ambiguous character. National (amateur) folklore creativity, being transformed with “new” problems of a state policy and education, were gradually breaking away from elements of archaic outlook. The artistic educational space were gradually acquiring the civic consciousness and autonomy. The special historical and cultural significance in the process of professional activity of cultural establishments in Mordovia had the provisions of Arts Sector of NCE (national commissariat of education) of RSFSR in which the attention to transformation of theatrical scenic works was paid and the creation of national theater was proclaimed. Owing to the developed professional activity of writers of Central Volga (since 1929) problems of development of the artistic literary language began to rise regularly, and it in its turn predetermined stages of professionalisation of theatrical processes in which the positive vector of pluralism in various directions and types of scenic educational and creative practices was designated (music, the drama, the opera, the ballet, scenography, etc.).

Keywords: historical and cultural situation; educational environment; the musical and drama studio; musical and drama technical school; reorganisation; typology of educational theatrical institutions; professionalization of theatrical processes.
