INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: DEVELOPMENT OF CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL TOURISM

The article examines the main trends in the development of international academic mobility of both the teaching stuff and students. The authors examine the international activities of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) as the main component oriented to a comprehensively assess educational institutions. Special attention in the work is given to the cultural and educational tourism – a new and promising direction of the tourism sphere. At the moment it is one of the main directions of international cultural exchange, the development of which contributes to the strengthening of international cooperation in the science, business and education. The most popular type of this kind of tourism is summer schools. Programmes, which are developed and offered by higher education institutions, are various. They are adapted for younger audiences and are designed for schoolchildren, students, graduate students, postgraduates and young teachers. Such educational programmes offer to study European languages directly where they are spoken. As the experience of the implementation of the Summer School “Cultural and educational tourism: travelling around taiga places” has shown, cooperative learning, on suggested tours, allows studying the language among peers that bias for the better on the psychological state of the participants. For young and talented people language courses are an excellent push for creativity and other possibilities. Teachers of Omsk State Pedagogical University affiliate in Tara developed and successfully implemented the programme of the Summer School “Cultural-educational tourism: travelling around taiga places”. The programme is designed for two sessions. Participants are given the great opportunity to improve their language skills and learn the Western Siberia’s culture, traditions and customs.s.
