The paper deals with essential characteristics of innovative educational programmes of applied baccalaureate designed at the university complex and ensuring general theoretical and practice-oriented components of training. The authors provide grounds for their implementation in the system “college – technical universityl” with the purpose of preparing competitive bachelors. Introduction of applied bachelor degree programmes is carried out to improve the efficiency and quality of higher education in accordance with needs of the labour market, to increase the level of interaction between educational institutions and employers. In practice-oriented bachelor degree programmes the amount of applied component is intended for specific employment of a university g raduate. The authors proposed the formula of applied bachelor “4 + 2”: 4 years – training in a technical college; 2 years – continuation of training at a higher educational institution, enabling to get a fast-track higher technical education. This educational scheme is considered one of the optimum optional educational trajectories timewise. In terms of cooperation between educational institutions and industrial enterprises bachelors will be prepared to start working immediately in a familiar working environment upon graduation. An important outcome of the experiment is the release of highly qualified bachelors, in demand and competitive in today’s job market.
