PHILOSOPHY’S ROLE AS A FORM OF WORLDVIEW IN MASTERING COMPETENCES BY STUDENTS OF THE TECHNICAL SPECIALISATIONS IN THE MODERN RUSSIA’S HIGHER EDUCATION SYSTEM

Introduction: the central point of the article is the understanding of worldview function of philosophy in modern Russian technical higher education system. The concept of the work is defined by accepting philosophy as a multifunctional phenomenon with the leading outlook role. The research objective represents the identification of a philosophy’s role in modern Russia’s higher technical education system within competence-based approach..
Materials and Methods: the qualitative and quantitative methods of the study are used within system approach considering the education as the special hierarchical system in dynamics. A competence-based approach is adopted in evaluating the educational activities of a future graduate. The dialectic method of considering things in unity and variety of their properties performs understanding of specifics of education as sociocultural phenomenon.
Results: highlighted is the interrelation of science, professional activity of graduates and philosophy as a form of theory outlook within the educational project of technical university. The research was carried out at Industrial University of Tyumen among students of technical specialisations by revealing the importance of philosophy, knowledge and skills to be used during entire period of training. A concept of forming a philosophical worldview determining the future value system of graduates at modern technical university was created as a result of the study.
Discussion and Conclusions: the rise of interest in philosophy among students was caused by application of innovative approaches in training with special attention to discussion, project activities, essays, etc. It was demonstrated that philosophy education is one of the important attributes in the modern technical process. It was proved that in the context of competence-based approach the highest responsibility in obtaining and mastering of competences lies on student (than on the teacher , or on other concerned party)..
