M. Yu Gryzhankova
(Ogarev Mordovia State University, Saransk, Russia)

Our reality demonstrates that rethinking of some judgements about the patterns and essence of social and spiritual life of people is inevitable. It is extremely important to find the value priorities and ideas, so that the most lofty ideals and untold potentials will serve as the paradigm for the process of understanding the philosophical traditions and spiritual heritage of Holy Rus. The article focuses on the fact that the representatives of Russian religious philosophy emphasizing the importance of non-rational aspects of the world perception gave a special attention to faith as a specific way of knowing. The author notes the special significance of faith in the structure of consciousness and Russian “worldview”. The article describes the idea that faith permeates all aspects of spiritual activity, is the basis of morality, attitude to work, nature and to the value and meaning of life. Education and spirituality are interpreted as independent phenomena.

Keywords: spiritual values; morality; identity; self-awareness; Christian anthropology; patristics; value orientation.
