Having a complex internal structure, the language educational culture gives place to multiple synergistic effects. There is a great variety of both positive (developing) and negative (destructive) synergistic effects. This fact makes the language discourse a critical factor determining the direction of the synergistic effect in language educational culture. We believe that synergetic effects can be positive if they are triggered by certain favourable conditions. This enables us to assume that the language educational culture can be of two different types: monolingual and polylingual. Having analyzed the modern state of things in the field of the language educational culture we have come to the conclusion that the monolingual type prevails in Russian multicultural reality. We hold it important to move to the polylingual pattern with the following structure: the basic language (Russian in Russia), an additional first-order language (a foreign language) and an additional second-order language (one of the national languages of the Russian Federation). This approach helps to solve a number of culturological issues related to methodology, conceptual instruments, ways of implementing the language educational policy as well as to make modern cultorological knowledge more communi cative and cognititve.
