The article discusses the use of interactive methods in teaching mathematics for engineering students. Two- tier system of training with the mandatory implementation of competence-based approach is an essential element of the modern transformation of higher education. Using interactive teaching methods is a prerequisite for the effective implementation of competence-based approach and one of the main directions of improving the training of future specialists. We give a classification of interactive teaching methods .The technique of using interactive methods on specific topics in mathematics. The author reveals the potential of discipline “Mathematics” and approaches to its teaching, allowing to improve the preparation of students-engineers purposefully for creative engineering thinking. The results can be used in the educational process of higher education in teaching students of different training areas subject “Mathematics”.
